Each person has their way of alleviating stress. Some are satisfied with a good nap. Others spend the evening in a calming bath or a quick jog around the park. But with the changing trends, some people feel relaxed with a quick marijuana puff.
It’s not yet a widely accepted recreational activity, as it’s still illegal in some states. Currently, it’s only legal in 12 states in the USA. But then again, the number of enthusiasts keep rising. And consequently, more and more ways are showing up on how to enjoy the herb. Some styles include joints, bongs, or using vaporizers. Nevertheless, it gives the same stress-relieving high that everybody loves.
What is a Vaporizer?
Gone are the days when rolling a joint was the only option to enjoy your favorite strain. Vaporizers are among the modern ways of consuming cannabis. If you think this is the first time that you’ve heard about this contraption, then you should keep reading.
A vaporizer is a small handheld smoking paraphernalia where people put some juice (in the case of marijuana, dry herbs or oils) into it to smoke. It turns oils and liquids into smoke or vapor.
Many cannabis users are now switching to these devices because they are deemed to be healthier than lighting the herbs up with a lighter. One, it does not have direct contact with the lighter and its chemicals. And two, it burns only up to a certain degree, so expect a smooth smoke every time.
Not to mention, the slow-burning machine gives a tasty treat with every puff.
How to Use It a Vaporizer
Vaporizers usually have specific heating settings. Before using your devices, let it heat up first after packing in the ground buds. Remember not to overfill the chambers for it to work correctly.
Once it’s pre-heated, the vapor will begin to come out of the mouthpiece. Take a quick puff for a clean and tasty hit. Some vaporizers automatically turn off after a few seconds to keep the unit from overheating.
Here are some tips on using vaporizers and cannabis for the first time:
1. Grinders are a must.
The burners in your vaporizers would have to work harder to burn big chunks of herbs. Worse, it may ruin the unit and clog it up altogether. So, use some grinders to break the buds into an almost fine powder.
Then, pack the ground buds into the chamber without overfilling. If packed tight, the air will not flow, and your vaporizers might not work correctly.
2. Let it heat up.
Some modified vaporizers offer up to three different heat settings. Still, no matter which one you choose, let your unit heat up to the correct setting before you take puff the juice. If you’re aiming for a delicious smoke, go for the low settings, and for a one-punch vapor, go for a higher temperature.
3. Clean the vaporizers.
Like what is said above, vaporizers need air to work. It requires maintenance and cleaning after every use. If you forego cleaning the device after each session, there is a high risk of leaving debris behind, which can cause clogging.
4. Store the device well.
Vaporizers have sensitive parts and are susceptible to acquiring odor. Also, since it does turn liquid to gas, it collects moisture. The buildup can cause severe rusting in the units. Keeping it in air-tight containers can help prevent all of these from happening.
Experimenting is always fun, even with recreation activities. If you are accustomed to using joints, switch it up, and go for a vaporizer this time around. Who knows, you may find something better for you.
