Hugh Hefner Should Support the Hollyweed Prankster Thor Benson January 4, 2017 Featured, Recreational CannabisI know this sounds a little odd, but Hugh Hefner should encourage Los Angeles authorities to leave the Hollyweed prankster alone (or maybe cover his legal fees).Welcome to 2017 #hollyweed pic.twitter.com/NJwkSfDT6U— Jay Mendoza (@MrJayMendoza) January 1, 2017As you probably know, someone went up to the Hollywood sign on New Year’s night and changed it to say “Hollyweed.” How many people did this harm? Zero. Should this prankster be prosecuted? No. Who should argue for that? Hugh Hefner. Why? Let me explain.Back in 2010, Hugh Hefner donated nearly $1 million to save the Hollywood sign. Developers were trying to take over the land and turn it into space for mansions, because, well, developers are often scum. Hefner saw this travesty taking place and donated $900,000 to a nonprofit trying to buy the land to save it.“It would have been a real shame after having restored it if it wound up sold,” Hefner said at the time. “It’s become something iconic and represents not only the town but represents Hollywood dreams, and I think that’s something worth preserving.”Now the LAPD is saying the prankster may be prosecuted. Considering no one was hurt, the sign doesn’t seem to have ben damaged and it was a holiday known for pranks, it seems ridiculous to lock this guy up or give him a huge fine for this. If Hefner really loves the sign and the Hollywood dream, he should help this guy get a break.[Photo by Alan Light/Flickr] Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
