Strain Review: Divine Wellness Mad Dog OG The 420 Times Staff May 17, 2016 420 Times Exclusives, Cannabis Strain Reviews, Exclusive Web Content, Featured, Reviews, The Business Side of Medical MarijuanaThis month we had it coming to us. As much cannabis as we do consume around here, you’d think there would be little to surprise us, but this Mad Dog OG has our minds blown. Once again, our review crew has been stumped by this super OG provided by Divine Wellness in Canoga Park.Mad Dog OG is from Dank Genetics, a team of breeders from around the world who have developed a solid catalog of strains. Mad Dawg OG, as DG calls it, is a cross of Lemon Alien Dawg with Star Fighter OG. Lemon Alien Dawg and Starfighter OG have a lineage of strains that are powerful and legendary. Some of this super OG’s descendants are Chem Dawg, Tahoe OG, Lemon Kush, SFV Kush, Hindu Kush, Northern Lights, Purple Kush, and the list goes on. Let’s just say, this strain is truly a hybrid of hybrids. At first glance these buds are super dense, so dense that just one of these nuggets shown here is nearly three grams! The sticky factor is high with this one, your fingers will be left sticky and smelling terrific with just a squeeze. The color pattern is also pretty special with dark and light greens, rusty colored hairs, and sprinkles of purple throughout. The fields of trichomes are massive; the buds sparkle in the light. The aroma grabs hold of you and doesn’t let go, which holds well for its namesake for sure. Once again, the smell leaked out of the plastic container like a gas of goodness. The hints of sour lemon, sweet warm pine and earthy dankness will invite you to sit and relax. When smoked or vaped, the flavor comes through in every hit, which tastes fantastic. The effects are off the charts for this hybrid indica, which we think is about a 60% indica ratio over 40% sativa. If you are not interested in extreme appetite forming hunger pains, we suggest having this after a meal. The body relaxes, but not couch locked. Our reviewers noticed that their eyes got heavier than usual and looked squinty. The cerebral effects are pleasant and allow creativity to flow. The body effects also are noticeable and were helpful in alleviating widespread pain in several of our team members. This can be a great afternoon or evening strain for those who medicate later in the day that still want to stay awake. Overall, Mad Dog OG is certainly a strain to experience over and over again with great results every time.Experience Mad Dog OG for yourself by visiting Divine Wellness in Canoga Park located at 7246 Eton Ave. Make sure to tell them The 420 Times sent you!!
