For decades, the story had been floating around that if you played Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, it would perfectly sync up with, of all things, The Wizard of Oz, a movie made 85 years ago featuring
hobbits Munchkins. And just two months ago, a lone Redditor discovered that the same track would also sync up with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
According to Greg Piper of The Tooners band, “We first noticed that the soundtrack to our show “Rock & Roll Rehab” syncs up perfectly with The Wizard Of Oz when we realized that our CD is 101 minutes long, the exact running time of The Wizard Of Oz. The effect was so creepy it freaked out our long time soundman who thought it was a sign from God and then quit to join a monastery. In fact, the guitar player and drummer also refuse to play the songs any more so now it’s a one man show live.”
Piper would probably also like you to know that The Tooners’ Rock & Roll Rehab Show (a 45 minute, one man version) will be performing live at The California Institute of Abnormal Arts, 11334 Burbank Blvd., North Hollywood, CA on 4/20 this year. Save the
