L.A. City Councilman Bill Rosendahl Says Obama “Betrayed Me On Every Step Of The Way” On Marijuana Policy Joe May 23, 2013 Activism, Exclusive Web Content, Medical Marijuana News, Politics, The War On Drugs Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl is a cancer survivor and also the first sitting elected official in the United States to publicly admit to being a medical cannabis patient. He was on HuffPost Live on Tuesday (full video below) to discuss medical marijuana and other issues, and he took the opportunity to rip into President Obama’s policy on cannabis. “First he kind of acknowledged medical marijuana, kind of giggled about it, and helped create all these illegal ones [dispensaries] that came up in our city,” said Rosendahl about the President. Then came the crackdown. “He came in with all the right energy and then, I feel, betrayed me on every step of the way,” said Rosendahl. Many patients in this country feel the same way Councilman. Why a supposedly “progressive” President like Barack Obama would attempt to wipe out medical marijuana is something advocates have been struggling with for a couple of years now. Obama betrayed millions of patients in this country, and the sad thing is, he is going to get a free pass for it. No consequences at all, riding off into the sunset after two terms. - Joe Klare - make sure you check out our Forums and our “Stop The Ban in L.A.” Facebook page! drmaddogs “Why a supposedly “progressive” President like Barack Obama would attempt to wipe out medical marijuana is something advocates have been struggling with for a couple of years now..” I highly suggest one looks to the individuals that assist in an election cycle for different candidates. Particularly those in Campaign funds management for the answer Rosendahl. For some 20 years in the cycles, orgs that get funding from the ONDCP are involved. Obama is no different, neither was Romney whom actually had the Campaign Funds actually headed up by such orgs.. It is impossible to deny these orgs their favors after utilizing them in a run for Presidency. Quite literally, Obama was lying by deception when giving any indication medical marijuana might be possibly included under his watch. Medical Mj inclusion provided no advantage to getting elected, other than the deception for votes. Continuing prohibition on all levels assured tax dollar allotments to the ONDCP would continue to provide 8 more years of funding for those Orgs that backed Obama. 50 Billion Tax dollars a year is why Obama mislead you Mr. Rosendahl. You feel betrayed because the President put the welfare of people behind the politics of election. He lied to you.
