The new Mayor of San Diego, former Congressman Bob Filner, recently spoke at a meeting of the medical marijuana advocacy group Americans for Safe Access. It was the first time a sitting mayor of San Diego has done so.

Filner was vocal during the campaign about the need for safe access for patients in San Diego, and he urged advocates to help him make that a reality in a city whose medical marijuana industry has been decimated.

With the help of more elected officials like Bob Filner, full and safe access for medical marijuana will become a reality for more and more people every year.
