NJWeedman Found Not Guilty Of Marijuana Distribution Charges

Ed Forchion, the legalization activist and Rastafarian better known as NJWeedman, was acquitted on possession with the intent to distribute marijuana in Burlington County, New Jersey Superior Court Thursday.
In this video he talks after the verdict about changing the law and his plans. NJWeedman was arrested back in 2010 after police found a pound of marijuana in his car trunk. He says it was for personal use and not distribution, and that he brought it with him from California where he is a legal and registered medical marijuana patient. Forchion was able to use his status as a medical marijuana user in his defense, which was critical to his acquittal.
He still faces jail time for possession of the marijuana, which is illegal under New Jersey law, but the jury in that case couldn’t come to a conclusion on the distribution charges, which led to last week’s retrial on those charges.
