Los Angeles City Council Overturns Medical Marijuana Dispensary Ban

The Los Angeles City Council has voted 11 to 2 to overturn the total ban on medical marijuana dispensaries in the city that they approved by a 14 to 0 vote back in July.
The council had to act after advocates got enough signatures to qualify a ban repeal for the city ballot. The council could have forced things and went to the polls, but it seems they have instead decided to back off and revisit the issue. Hopefully now the council and advocates can hammer out some regulations for dispensaries in Los Angeles.
Which means the council will now have to do the job they tried to avoid back in July. There has to be a set of regulations governing dispensaries in the city, and it’s time the city council got down to the business of making them.
