Feds Raid Legal Medical Marijuana Dispensary In San Diego

Now over a year old, the massive federal medical marijuana crackdown continues to rock the state of California with closures and raids coming every week. On Wednesday, federal agents descended on the “Next Generation” dispensary in San Diego.

According to Eugene Davidovich of Americans for Safe Access, the raid was retaliatory in nature. “The raid came just hours after the Court of Appeal for the Fourth Appellate District reversed Jovan Jackson’s conviction,” he says. “In that case, Jackson was operating a collective in San Diego which was raided by the same NTF team. Following a year long trial, Jackson was acquitted by a jury of his peers. Refusing to accept the jury’s decision, San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis’ office raided Jackson’s collective a second time and re-filed all the charges.”

Jackson was convicted in the second trial, but after that conviction was overturned on appeal Wednesday, feds raided “Next Generation.”

Fortunately advocates were on the scene of the raid soon after it started, resulting in the footage below.

U.S. Attorneys have found many easy targets in medical marijuana dispensaries, and one has to wonder where it will all end. Will election day bring any relief, or just more of the same?
