Marijuana legalization is inevitable, but many questions still remain, like how long will it take and where will it take place? Momentum is great at the state level while it is nonexistent at the federal level. So how will legalization ultimately come about?
A likely scenario is that the states and overwhelming public opinion will ultimately force Congress into action. But will history look back on these days as the final ones in the saga of cannabis prohibition?
“There’ a rising tide of acceptance of the fact that people are going to smoke marijuana, and it’s like the prohibition against alcohol in the 1930s. There’s a recognition that perhaps the laws are causing more harm than the drugs themselves,” says Rick Steves, author and travel host, in the video below.
How long will that recognition take to turn into an end to prohibition?
