This Saturday patients and supporters of medical marijuana in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles have a chance to send a message to L.A. City Councilman Jose Huizar, the main proponent of the recent citywide dispensary ban.

If you have a receipt from a business in Eagle Rock then you can vote as an “at-large-stakeholder” in the Eagle Rock Neighborhood City Council Election this Saturday, October 13th from 10am – 4pm, being held at the Eagle Rock City Hall at 2035 Colorado Blvd in Eagle Rock, CA 90041.

The vote is a chance to oust ER Neighborhood Council member Michael Larsen who, with Jose Huizar, almost single-handedly started the backlash against medical marijuana in Los Angeles. ERNC was the Council to support the ban in L.A. and push Huizar to pass it through City Council. Larsen is also responsible for repeatedly contacting the Federal Government to get them to send letters and raid collectives in L.A. He was voted into power by only 63 people, yet his impact on medical marijuana jobs and City revenue has been, and continues to be, disastrous.

Activism begins at home, and in local elections.

While neighborhood councils like the one in Eagle Rock are really just advisory boards, their possible influence is clearly evident in the recent dispensary ban. If you shop in the area, vote on Saturday!
