The video below not only features a great discussion on the history of marijuana prohibition and the need for its end, but it also features the esteemed Editor-in-Chief of The 420 Times, Dave Brian.

And the “points” made are good ones, from the entire panel and the host. Like it or not, marijuana is a part of our culture. All making it illegal has done is make drug dealers/cartels, corporations and politicians rich. And therein lies the problem. The very side effects that make marijuana prohibition so dangerous are the same ones keeping it in place.

On a side note, in the beginning the host – John Fugelsang – makes a couple of jokes about the abundance of white men in the discussion, and I think the make-up of the panel highlights an important point. White men should be talking about an end to prohibition since white men were responsible for it in the first place. It’s time we take responsibility for what we have done and make it right.

Will we burden our descendents with the same ignorance our ancestors passed to us?
