Pop mega-superstar Lady Gaga has been open in the past about her marijuana use, saying it helps her with her music. Further enhancing her cannabis credentials, on Monday the singer was performing in Amsterdam when a pack of cigarettes was thrown onstage. After checking to make sure it was just tobacco, she threw the pack offstage.

Another fan followed up with a joint tossed onstage. Gaga proceeded to check its authenticity by lighting it up and taking a few puffs. When she was done, Gaga threw the joint back into the crowd. ”For those of you who are wondering if I’m high right now, I’m not. That is not nearly enough to get me high,” she said.

I can only imagine what someone who makes the kind of money that Lady Gaga does is smoking on. Quality or quantity are likely never a problem, no matter where she is in the world.

Of course some are already criticizing Lady Gaga for sending the “wrong message” to her fans, but the message seems to be “throw away that pack of cigarettes and smoke a joint.” As far as messages go, that’s one of the safest there is.

I would be far more concerned if kids started wearing meat dresses and acting incredibly bizarre in public to be like Gaga. When it comes to kids and experimentation, there are so many things more dangerous than marijuana.
