Over 100 hundred Los Angeles activists, dispensary operators and representatives from UFCW Local 770 held a training session for signature gathering for the referendum to repeal the medical marijuana dispensary ban in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
According to organizers of the signature gathering for the referendum, the progress is “off to a blazing start,” with over 10,000 signatures already gathered after three and a half days of canvasing the City of Los Angeles for residents who are registered. The referendum needs about 27,500 valid signatures to meet the goal but the organizers are planning to turn in far more signatures to safely guarantee the required number of valid signatures.
The referendum will force the issue to be put forth to the residents of Los Angeles in an upcoming ballot.
To be able to sign the referendum you have to be registered to vote and a resident in the city Los Angeles.
