The free market is an interesting and complex apparatus. The government tries to manipulate it in many ways, but the market always finds a way.

The government has tried for years to destroy the market for marijuana, yet use continues to go up. Thanks to more lenient marijuana laws in several states combined with inflated prohibition profits, the supply is on the rise as well. Quasi-prohibition is serving to fuel a supply increase while prices remain high. This supply has to go somewhere.

This is why you can find marijuana grown in California in any state in the union. It’s good and there is a lot of it. You’ll rarely hear someone say, “I just got this chronic from Wisconsin, you should probably sit down for this.” That’s because they are not growing acres of high quality marijuana in Wisconsin.

And states having stricter laws on marijuana acts as a vacuum that draws the marijuana from states like California, as it becomes cheaper to import the cannabis than grow it under tougher prohibition laws.
