San Diego NORML is organizing a protest over the DEA’s treatment of student Daniel Chong, who was left in a holding cell for 5 days with no food or water at the DEA office in San Diego.

The folks at San Diego NORML sent out a press release recently detailing the specifics of the protest.

Many of you are aware of the recent tragic events related to UC San Diego student Daniel Chong. For those who not know the story, Mr. Chong was detained by DEA agents for five days without food and
water following a raid at a 4/20 celebration.

In response to this outrageous action by DEA agents, San Diego NORML, along with other local groups and activists, will be holding a protest this Monday, May 7, at 4:20 p.m. at the San Diego DEA office. The address of the office is 4560 Viewridge Avenue, San Diego, CA 92123.

Please come to show your support for Daniel Chong, and to condemn recent actions taken by DEA agents and the federal government. Feel free to bring a sign, banner, megaphone, or anything else that will help publicize our message. We hope to see you all there!

Daniel Chong’s lawyers have also filed a $20 million dollar suit against the DEA. Even that number seems kind of low considering what this man had to go through. But at the risk of seeming biased, I hope he wins every penny.
