Executive Director of the largest medical marijuana dispensary in the world – Harborside Health Center in Oakland, CA – Steve DeAngelo is going to be giving a free lecture in southern California tomorrow, so if you are in the area and are interested in medical marijuana, it will be a can’t-miss event.

From a press release on the lecture:

Steve DeAngelo, Executive Director of Harborside HealthCenter in Oakland and star of “Weed Wars”, will be giving a free lecture in West Hollywood as part of a week-end devoted to federal tax reform.

Join Steve for a rousing and inspirational “Journey Through Cannabis Reform,” which chronicles 20 years of reform efforts and outlines the challenges ahead. The speech is at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 4 at Plummer Park,7377 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood California.

Mr. DeAngelo has been involved in cannabis reform for the past twenty years, and his medical cannabis facility, Harborside, is the largest in the nation. This model facility in Oakland has provided so much medicinal cannabis to the sick and dying over the years, that should DeAngelo be broughtup on federal charges, the death penalty could be imposed.

Come hear the prospective of a man who has devoted his entire adult life to the cannabis plant, and continues to operate a model facility in face of recent federal raids in Oakland and an IRS audit that is so onerous it may well be the downfall of Harborside and any other cannabis facilities that federal tax agents target.

For the last two years, federal raids have included IRS agents. Cannabis collectives and cooperatives all over the state have been undergoing federal tax audits.

Mr. DeAngelo’s appearance is part of a week-end devoted to the reform of federal tax laws that unfairly target medical cannabis collectives and cooperatives. Information on this weekend of events can be found at: http://www.280ereform.org/seminars.

Circumstances have become dire in California when it comes to the federal medical marijuana crackdown and the damage it has done to the state’s MMJ industry. With raids in Oaksterdam and the closing of Berkeley Patient’s Group, it seems like only a matter of time before Harborside itself it attacked with more than tax issues.
