Medical Marijuana Advocates Seek To Overturn Fort Collins, CO Dispensary Ban

As we reported last year that they might, opponents of the medical marijuana dispensary ban in Fort Collins, Colorado are looking to overturn the ban this fall.
A petition notice has been filed with the city clerk’s office and if they approve the wording of the petition, the group backing it will have 60 days to collect 4,214 valid signatures from registered voters to get the question on the ballot.
Supporters hope a Presidential election year will bring more voters to the ballot box and overturn the ban. Can you imagine all of this back and forth over a ban on pharmacies? Of course not because such a suggestion would be shot down immediately and cries of discrimination would echo across the country.
But medical marijuana patients can be treated like second-class citizens and told they are not allowed to buy medication in the city they live in. Time will tell if a larger group of voters will decide against this discrimination.
If you live in the area, spread the word. Signature gathers should be hitting the streets in Fort Collins very soon, so get ready.
