Belly’s Cream of the Crop Report: Bubba Kush

This Month’s Crop: BUBBA KUSH
Price Range: Bubba Kush goes for approximately $240 to $280 (CAD) per ounce. In the U.S. however, the price triples to over $700 per ounce. The reason for this is due to the tougher laws in the US against the cultivation of marijuana. Also the Canadian climate allows for optimum growing conditions indoors.
Upon examination: You notice that the buds are extremely large and dense. There is darker leafing and no purple foliage (purple usually shows in the final stages of flowering due to cold temperatures). Bubba Kush has an earthy smell with undertones of lime.
Availability: Bubba Kush comes in two grades: Triple A or Quad (Quadruple A). What separates the two is that Quad is grown organically, meaning there is no use of chemical nutrients or pesticides, whether indoors or outdoors. Quads are grown in top soil and perlite using bat guano and worm casting. Triple A is grown using chemical nutrients such as general hydroponics and a flushing process is required to get the chemicals out of the weed. Organic Bubba Kush is extremely hard to find especially in large quantities, which makes it more desirable among consumers.
When smoking: The taste is similar to the smell (earthy with an undertone of lime) and that is due to the fact that it’s organic. Normally Bubba Kush is used medicinally for patients with cancer, aids, or brain aneurisms because of its painkilling properties. The high is a couch lock, munchie and cerebral time out for at least half an hour.
Why do I smoke it?: I smoke Bubba Kush because it’s stronger than most strains of kush and though it’s more expensive, it tends to last longer, because of it’s intensity. It has a strong high, which gives me a chance to focus and center myself.
