The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarcertion

I know it’s been the “in thing” for a couple of decades now to cry racism at every opportunity, but in the case of black men and drug arrests, what other explanation can there be?

We’ve reported before on how black people are much more likely to be arrested for drugs (especially marijuana) than white people, despite the fact the drug use among both races is pretty much the same. Many have speculated that this is simply the new way of keeping black men in chains.

And any logical person will see that the evidence is overwhelming. Why else would black people – who comprise about 12% of the U.S. population – constitute 53.5% of those entering prison because of a drug conviction?

Consider the college lecture below. It’s long, but worth the watch if this is a subject you are interested in.
