Daisy Bram and her husband Jayme Walsh are legal medical marijuana patients in the state of California. They also had to fight for several months to get their children back.

What crime did they commit to have their children taken, you may ask? Well, being medical marijuana patients of course.

On September 29, 2011 the Butte Interagency Narcotic Task Force burst into the home of Daisy and Jayme, arresting the couple and placing their children with child protective services.

The two babies snatched by the jack-booted thugs were still nursing when they were ripped from their home.

Authorities had been to the Walsh residence three weeks before they stole this couple’s children. They went onto the couple’s property illegally for a “compliance check,” checking on the medical cannabis garden on the property. The police at that point told Jayme that “…everything looks okay… good luck with the baby.”

It seems the couple needed more than luck. Less than a month after the compliance visit they were being charged with multiple felonies, including several criminal cannabis charges and child abuse.

The child abuse charges and one of the cannabis charges were soon dismissed, but have be refiled in an apparent attempt at retribution after there was a backlash against the original charges from the public.

According to an update in the description of the Youtube video below, Daisy and Jamie finally got their children back in January, but charges still hang over their heads.

It will come as no surprise to our readers that Butte County authorities have never checked to see if Daisy and Jayme are legal medical marijuana patients, which they are.

The NORML Women’s Alliance has made an official request for an investigation of the BINTF and Child Services Division of Butte County, which takes a higher percentage of children from their parents than any other county in CA. Several more people have stepped forward, questioning the conduct of Butte County authorities in their cases.

Taking children for no reason is just another way for law enforcement to intimidate medical cannabis users. Big Pharma pays off elected officials who in turn unleash their minions to wipe out competition to the pharmaceutical companies.

And they don’t care who they hurt in the process.

Daisy also personally told me that there were other issues, they found a empty shell casing on the property, citing they had illegal firearms on the property when the truth was that the shell casing was something left there by previous tenants. They found nothing but still charged Jamie with it. So glad they got the kids back but it must be hell having all that mess looming over their heads. How stressful for a young mother and babies to have to go through.
