Current reality star and sitcom legend Roseanne Barr announced the other night on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that she is planning on running for President.

An advocate for marijuana legalization, Roseanne told Leno, “I want to be a part of the debates because I want to represent the taxpayers. In fact, I’m choosing the tax payers as my vice president.”

It’s hard to tell at this point how much of this is a publicity stunt, but it’s no coincidence that she has a new TV show and now she wants to run for President.

Despite her clear lack of knowledge on how the system works – making millions of people her Vice President and getting rid of all money systems and going back to barter are just a couple of things that could never happen – she is generating publicity about marijuana legalization, and that’s always a a good thing.

We have qualified people who are running for President and who also favor marijuana legalization. Time will tell how long Roseanne’s “run” lasts, but I’m sure as soon as the joke runs its course we won’t hear anymore about it.

It could be that more people jumping into the presidential race on the pot platform helps make it the norm. I don’t instinctively feel Rosanne has much of a chance. She scares me. If she reads this, I’m a little concerned she’s going to take it so personally pay me a visit with a crow bar to the knee leaving me in the invariable crippled cry, “Why me?” Too soon for a Nancy Kerrigan joke? Maybe even too late. I’ll stop now. Can’t. Stop. Typing. asdfjasdlkfhjas;fjla…
