Case Against Colorado Medical Marijuana Doctor Tossed

On Wednesday Colorado Dr. Toribio Robert Mestas – facing charges of forgery, marijuana distribution, conspiracy, and intent to influence a public servant – had the case against him thrown out of court by Arapahoe County District Judge Kurt Horton, who ruled the Dr. had followed Colorado’s Constitution when he recommended cannabis to an undercover police officer last year.
“Colorado’s Amendment 20 simply allows for a physician to certify that a patient might benefit from the use of marijuana as a medical treatment,” Horton wrote, “and it is then left up to the patient whether to apply for a medical marijuana registry card.”
A police officer, using a fake name, came to Dr. Mestas complaining of daily back pain, trouble sleeping, and having “the body of an 80-year-old.” So the doctor recommended medical marijuana. Then the District Attorney – thinking not nearly enough money and time had been wasted on this – built an entire case around a doctor recommending medical cannabis in Colorado.
Hopefully this outcome shows other D.A.’s that their time is better spent elsewhere, like prosecuting murderers, rapists, child molesters, robbers, assaulters, embezzlers, jaywalkers, etc.
There is enough crime in this country without authorities trying to manufacture more.

That’s just it though, I don’t think that the D.E.A. does anything but drug “enforcement” actions. These people need to be retrained. They are becoming dinosaurs, acting against the will of the people, and just like the majority of us, need to adapt to a changing world. Almost no one will stay in the same job for life in this modern world. Wake up! Get it through your thick, stubborn, propaganda supporting heads and then suck it up and retrain like so many others are doing as I speak. Hell, get an education. I don’t think it takes brains to do what you do. Perhaps a labotomy to remove your violent tendancies, or just some good old fashioned cannabis!!! That will do the trick / heal your weary souls and hopefully passify you.
