The next inductee in The 420 Times Cannabis Hall of Fame is legendary grower Jorge Cervantes. For more than 25 years this international “guerrilla grower” has been writing books and magazine articles and making DVD’s, teaching millions of people around the world the fine art of cannabis growing.

I had the privilege of speaking with Mr. Cervantes via phone from his location in Spain along the Mediterranean. He was happy to hear about his induction into our Hall of Fame. “It is pretty amazing and I’m very flattered to be perfectly honest. I’m a pretty normal guy, you know. I guess that’s the way I look at it. But I’m very, very flattered.”

Cervantes says he started sharing his knowledge about growing because of all the misinformation that was being spread about cannabis cultivation.

“What I found was a bunch of people that were making money because they weren’t telling the truth,” Jorge said. “And I didn’t like it so I decided to start writing and applying good simple information. Good information that wasn’t too difficult to understand. And beyond just growing myself, I talked to other growers and I found out what they knew. And I think that’s been my strength. It’s not so much writing but listening.”

A humble man despite being known the world over, Jorge gives others a lot of credit for the great success that is his career. “I have a hard time giving bad information. And so I’ve been very fortunate in that way because I’ve been able to hang with some real smart people that have a lot of experience. My information comes from a lot of people, not just me.”

Cannabis growing is the foundation of the entire cannabis law reform movement. Good information is vital to the quality of medication available to millions of patients around the world.
