iStock 000005740389XSmall 300x199 Marc Emery To Be Sentenced On September 10thMarc Emery – cannabis seed seller and activist – will be sentenced in the United States on Friday, September 10th. He will probably receive the 5-year sentence he agreed to in his plea deal, but if he does not, a trial will ensue where he faces up to 30 years in prison. Supporters of Marc are trying to get him transferred to Canada to serve his sentence.

Jodie Emery, wife of Marc Emery, will be at the US Federal Court (700 Stewart Street, downtown Seattle) at noon on Friday to meet with supporters and media.

“It’s nerve-wracking to go through this process,” Jodie said, “but Marc and I are both doing our best to stay strong. We know he is a political prisoner and, no matter the outcome on Friday, we just want him to be brought home to serve his sentence in Canada.”

This has been a politically motivated prosecution from the start; Marc dared to fight for cannabis law reform, and he sold seeds to be able to fund that fight. The United States painted him as a dangerous drug dealer so they could have him extradited to this country where we could punish him for his audacity.

To the U.S. Government the Marc Emery story is supposed to be a cautionary tale; it’s supposed to be a deterrent to those looking to get into the cannabis law reform movement. But to us it is just the opposite.

Marc’s story shows what one man can do. Against long odds and two national governments Marc brought his message to the masses. He inspired thousands of activists like myself, and now we are all over the world and internet spreading the truth about marijuana. We must continue the fight, no matter what the outcome of Marc’s case.

You should watch the collectivist speech. “we” aren’t punishing Mr. Emery. The US government is punishing him. I’m sure if it was up to you, you would set him free, right?

    Seattle,

Protest Peacefully in front of the federal courthouse at 1:30 Friday.
    “..to petition the government..”

    It is your right.

  3. Joe says:

That’s true enough Bmorebadboy, but “we” have put these people in positions of power so we hold ultimate responsibility.

“I” don’t have to put these people in positions of power. In fact, I believe that’s the problem. The only kind of people who seek out positions of power are those that would abuse it. Just think of what it takes to run a campaign, all that money, people chanting your name, you’ve got to be a megalomaniac. What “we” should do is do away with these imposing positions of power and learn to interact on a voluntary basis.
