The Latest In Marijuana Crop Security – Bears

During a cannabis raid in British Columbia recently, Royal Canadian Mounted Police encountered something strange; they found 13 bears guarding the marijuana crop.
RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said the officers were a little nervous to say the least, and cautiously went about making the seizure.
“As the members are conducting the search of the house, at one point in time the (home owner) has to shoo a bear out of the residence and out of the way, coming out of the basement,” he said.
It seems some people had been growing on the home owner’s land without their knowledge, and since the bears were used to humans, they apparently became the growers’ mascots/security guards. The marijuana was confiscated and the bears went on about their business.

Bears make for lousy security guards. Note how the homeowner just “shooed” the bear out of his way. The Black bears in Florida/Georgia are pretty much the same in that regard. In certain areas it is not unusual to see Black Bears lounging around in a yard full of children. They are pretty cool animals.
