More Than 2,000 Apply For Medical Marijuana Licenses In CO

Business from all over Colorado have applied for licenses to open medical marijuana dispensaries in the state. According to CO officials, more than 2,000 people – including growers and current dispensary owners – have sent in applications.
As we reported yesterday, the state has received over $7 million in application fees, but I think the fact that they got over 2,000 applications deserves a mention of its own.
That is an incredible amount of new businesses wanting to open, especially in a down economy. We hear politicians go on and on about job creation, but they never seem to have a clue how to go about it. Doesn’t it make sense to jump on the bandwagon of something new when it shows this kind of promise for economic growth?
Apparently not to them. Many politicians are against even medical marijuana, and we should start making them pay for that position at the ballot box. The whole point of representative government is for the people to have power over those who represent them. We have that power, because we have a vote. Find pro-cannabis reform measures in your state to vote for, and pro-reform politicians to support. And then tell your friends to do the same.
We can and are making a difference; we cannot let up now.
