Marijuana Scheme At Center Of Triple Homicide?

At first glance this story looks to be one that helps prove a contention of anti-marijuana activists; namely that cannabis is a “crime magnet” and that’s why it shouldn’t be legalized.
Detectives investigating a triple homicide in West Hollywood, CA say three men involved in a marijuana re-selling scheme were killed and robbed of their marijuana.
First of all, people get robbed all the time; if they have something valuable that someone thinks they can steal, they will get robbed. This isn’t just true of marijuana. Second, anti-marijuana advocates like to say that legalization will lead to people in CA buying cannabis and re-selling it around the country. Guess what? This already happens, which brings me to my third point.
Prohibition has the effect of prohibiting nothing. All the “evils” that anti-legalization people say will come with legalization are already on full display. Marijuana is easy to get; if it was going to cause society to crumble, it would have already. We only want legalization so people stop getting criminal records and jail time for having a plant.
Marijuana prohibition doesn’t stop people from using marijuana; it only singles out good, decent people and labels them criminals.
