iStock 000006686225XSmall 300x199 Electric Car Made Of Hemp To Be Made In CanadaAn electric car to be made of hemp is being developed by several Canadian companies.

The car’s body will be made of an impact-resistant composite material produced from mats of hemp, a plant from the cannabis family.

Of course The United States prohibition of industrial hemp prevents similar feats of engineering from being performed here. So it seems the Drug Enforcement Administration has its heavy hand in just about every segment of our society, including car design and production.

Somewhere along the line the DEA has gathered an incredible amount of power unto itself. This is very dangerous, not to mention very unconstitutional. There are three branches of government, and the DEA – in theory – in subservient to the executive branch. But it seems Attorney General Eric Holder or even President Obama can’t tell this agency what to do. The raids on medical marijuana dispensaries continue, and the DEA makes policy in dozens of areas of federal and state government.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll continue to say it; the DEA needs to be reined it at the very least, but preferably dismantled.
