Did Smell Of Marijuana Get Paris Hilton Busted For Coke?

Paris Hilton was pulled over last night in Las Vegas by police, and cops claim the smell of marijuana came from the car, giving them probable cause to search the vehicle. This is when they found the cocaine the heiress has been charged with possessing.
First off, Paris Hilton gets stopped by the cops a lot. Perhaps this is something she should remedy, especially if she plans on carrying drugs with her. But beyond that, this highlights a trick police like to use. Whether they “smell marijuana” or not, what’s to stop them from saying it? Maybe they saw Paris Hilton and thought there was a good chance of a celebrity bust if they could just search the car.
As most of us know, the smell of cannabis is enough for a cop to search your vehicle in just about every city and town in this country. One of the many drawbacks of marijuana prohibition is this rule, which basically gives police permission to search any car anytime they want. It should go without saying that you should avoid carrying illegal drugs on you when your traveling, whenever possible. That way if cops do search you, they find nothing and you’re free to go.

why are they not drugtested when they get caught? it should be mandatory to find out who is using it and who holds it. they should check the guy because he is the door to the powder. she can not be outside an armoured car but the guy gets it from a source we all know came in illegally. they should ransack his house in henderson for that, during their stay in the arrest. but our law dont reach them. if youre a regular person the police will wake your grandma in the middle of the night with a search warrent but they are home free like nothing happened. this is how vegas became vegas.

Excellent point Joe. Prohibition is utterly inconsistent with the Fourth Amendment because it provides law enforcement an unverifiable “out” to violate our rights whenever they want. Good news for Paris is this whole incident was supposedly caught on tape, the cops won’t be able to lie about what happened the way they would in a typical bust. David Chesnoff is a great attorney. Hopefully all ends well for Paris and the LVPD (who murdered an innocent man over pot just a couple months ago) end up with egg on their faces.
