An interesting story out of Colorado. When cops were called to a home in Denver because of suspected domestic violence, they investigated and found no domestic violence had occurred. What they did find was a marijuana grow operation. The couple who resided in the home with their children were charged with child endangerment.
I have my own opinions on this (as I do about everything), but I want to hear from our readers first. Do you think growing marijuana in your home with children present should constitute child abuse? I am so disgusted with our DA or who ever thought that this was actually going to stand. Amendment 20 protects patients and caregivers from all civil and criminal prosecution. ITS A DAMN PLANT. My children have never eaten my aloe vera plant or my venus fly trap, or any of the other plants i have that may or may not be dangerous if ingested. I can not believe that my government would try and make me feel like a bad mother because i grow a few plants, i also have tomatoes and peppers and pumpkins and watermelon and so on and so forth. So i guess that means im a real bad mother having all those plants growing. I fully plan on teaching my children that marijuana is a medicine and that used responsibly(as everything else should be) it can relive real pain and other issues. I plan on teaching my children the ignorance that most people (especially those in power) possess about marijuana and of course a slue of other issues. How is it acceptable to torture and ruin peoples lives over a plant, a plant that we have every legal right to grow cause my state says i can, but then they say i cant, but then well maybe. Get your shit together colorado, i am completly disgusted and ashamed to call my self a coloradian.
i dont believe its endangerment if its done properly, smell controlled and out of the way from children, i dont want kids going out to play or school smelling like weed. so if done properly, then by know means is this child abuse
If a person is a medical marijuana patient and they have children in their home, it should NOT be considered child abuse OR child endangerment as long as the “growing operation” is controlled properly. Parents should have enough common sense to keep their children AWAY from the stuff. As long as the person is following the “laws” that come along with medicinal marijuana then their shouldnt be any issues. Out of sight out of mind!
I hope those people who said growing is child abuse is kidding.
