The 420 Times, Los Angeles’s magazine of medical marijuana and natural healing, has recently been featured in an article written by journalist Steve Appleford for L.A. Weekly. The story, titled “Weed Mags Sprout Across Los Angeles,” discusses the recent rise in medical marijuana publications following the legalization of the medicine.

“We’re glad that our magazine is gaining recognition by a publication as well-established as L.A. Weekly,” noted Dave Brian, editor of The 420 Times. “It’s nice to have our hard work noticed.”

In the article, Appleford notes The 420 Times’s attempt to separate itself from other titles and establish itself primarily as a magazine dedicated to helping patients of medical marijuana.

Appleford also notes that, in contrast to its competitors, The 420 Times features only original material, avoiding what has been noted as a lack of “standard and ethics.”

“We want to change the general public’s perception of marijuana so that people can see it as a legitimate medicine that really helps people,” said Brian. “We hope the look of our magazine, as well as our high journalistic standards, help achieve that legitimacy. We want to facilitate medical marijuana’s push into the mainstream.”

The 420 Times is published monthly and distributed in 7-Elevens throughout Los Angeles and Ventura County. The magazine’s website is located at http://www.the420times.com.
