BREAKING NEWS: California’s Assembly Public Safety Committee Approves Legal Marijuana Bill

Jan. 12, 2010 — Earlier today, the Assembly Public Safety Committee approved Assembly Bill 390 (AB 390), which would legalize, tax, and regulate marijuana in California. However, whether AB 390 becomes a law is still very much in question.

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Assembly Public Safety Committee approved a marijuana legalization bill Tuesday on a 4-3 vote.

Assembly Bill 390 would legalize, tax and regulate the sale of marijuana. People over 21 years old would be allowed to grow, buy, sell and possess cannabis – all of which is barred by federal law.

    Great news! I live in New york and they just legalized medical marijuana in jersey i was about to move4 there and open a dispensery. The only problem is that it is way too over regulated. Can u guys please post more information about this new bill that passed. Such as where the marijuana will be sold, how much your allowed to grow, and etc.

    The exact bill that is being considered is the Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act A804/S119. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find out much about the specifics of the bill just yet, but you can poke around New Jersey’s NORML website for more info: http://www.normlnj.org/
