Local Marijuana Guidelines In California: What’s The Law In Your City?

According to California state law as determined by California Senate Bill 420, patients or caregivers “can own up to 6 mature or 12 immature plants per patient” and “can possess up to eight ounces of dried marijuana per patient.”
However, there are a handful of localities that have marijuana cultivation and possession laws that differ from state laws. They are the following:
- Arcata
- Butte Co.
- Calaveras Co.
- Del Norte Co.
- El Dorado Co.
- Humboldt Co.
- Mendocino Co.
- Nevada Co.
- Oakland
- San Diego
- San Francisco
- Santa Cruz
- Sonoma Co.
- Tehama Co.
- Trinity Co.
